Ipswich Green Living Days

I was asked if I would attend the Ipswich Green Living Days event in Chantry Park, Ipswich on the 24th and 25th of June. I was pleased to accept the invitation of John Welsh, the chairman of the Green Living Centre and was very glad I did as the event was very well supported.

It was nice to be able to talk to many people about alternative technology and my various projects. People were genuinely interested and shared their experiences in a relaxed atmosphere and great weather. Many people were asking about grey water recycling and I was able to help those that had DIY skills by explaining how my home rainwater harvesting system worked.

One important visitor was Ipswich MP Chris Mole and his wife Shona. While chatting with him I discovered he was due to take delivery of a Toyota Prius hybrid car just like mine. It is good to see an MP buying a car with low emissions. I'm sure he won't be disappointed.

One of the major exhibitors was the Green Roadshow with their non-animal circus and sideshows. The whole rig is solar powered and it tours all over the country visiting green fairs.

The whole event was very enjoyable and it is hoped that it will return bigger and better in future years. The people of Ipswich certainly took it to heart and gave it their enthusiastic support.
